General Information

Buenos Aires
The Spanish founded the city of Buenos Aires for the first time on the right-hand bank of the Río de la Plata in 1536, which was destroyed by the Indians and founded for the second time in 1580. Its museums, art galleries and theatres confirm Buenos Aires’ reputation as being one of America’s most important cities for its artistic and cultural activities, a reputation which it enjoys. Although it’s a modern city, with its impressive turn-of-the-century European-style buildings, it also possesses some very well-preserved districts containing typical colonial architecture.
